Happy New Year everyone! even the non regulars!

Hai hai~! And so we will being our new years very shortly in UK, and this year seems to have rushed by. It will be 2010, another new year, and another year for jrock releases.

It has been a year of great joy and sadness.

Many great artists have left us this year, including Jasmine You [Versailles PQ], Masahiko Shimura [Fujifabric], Michael Jackson and many many more. Not only that, but this has been the year for disbandment [click to post]. I blame the recession cutting the fat of the amount jrockers make, and it was also the first time I've heard a band go bankrupt [nightmare's side band, I forget the name].

But many great things have also happened, including Miyavi forming his new label [now being signed to EMI music japan]. ViVid going major, actually, loads of bands have gone major this year.

We have seen many crazy things... From Golden bombers weird antics on the camera to our little thing with gatsuuubiiii. Also our very first secret santa in the blog :D It was quite hard to put together, but in the end I hope everyone had a lot of fun.

I want to thank all the mods here who have helped out so much over the year, RxC, Shugo, Alfy and the odd poster J. You guys are fabulous and made this blog how it is now, because without you, I probably would have given up on posting and deserted this blog ages ago. We might not be the most popular jrock blog, but I know we are one of them. Plus, I had not aim for this site in the first place, so seeing how far its gone, thats pretty damn impressive so give yourselves a well deserved pat on the back. ^__^ heres a picture of one if you're not very flexible.

New years resolution:
I never really have one, and I don't think I can ever make one and stick to it. But I do hope I continue to work even harder at school and post a lot on this blog! oh oh, I really need to find myself a placement as well! That shall be mine, a job :D! Someone beat me up if i dont do it D:

MUCC : Happy About Making Winter-songs in Winter and Releasing Them in Winter

For the first time in the carreer for MUCC the band released a download only single

On December 25th, titled "Georama". It was said to by simplistic in sound and words throughout its making. Almost getting back to their roots, the song has elements of folk even. Miya said about the production "This song about the winter has been made in winter and will be released in winter. Its really great that we are able to do something like that now."

This release of „Georama" was certainly conducted in a minimum time span concerning making and release period. There can be hardly anything which is closer to showing MUCC's style of the moment than this. So don't miss this chance to listen to the true sound of MUCC's present right now!

A news report about the release of “Up” in Japan notes that Hayao Miyazaki’s Ghibli movies have inspired the Americans who create computer animated films for Pixar:

A lot of the Pixar people absolutely love Miyazaki’s films and some have decorated their work space with Ghibli merchandise. One of Pixar’s biggest Ghibli fans seems to be chief creative officer John Lasseter, whose office is decked out with a ton of Totoro stuff. For his 50th birthday, Lasseter received a special gift from Miyazaki – 50 stuffed makkuro kurosuke. [The Pixar folks have also sent gifts to Miyazaki, as we can see from the Monsters Inc/Totoro portrait hanging on the wall at the Studio Ghibli HQ.]

The report also shows some of the key differences between the way Pixar and Ghibli create their films. Miyazaki has almost total control over the entire creative process that goes into his film, while Pixar likes to engage in group brainstorming. Both result in great films, but one has to wonder what will happen to Studio Ghibli once Miyazaki is no longer able to create films. Toshio Suzuki suggests that a director like Pixar’s Pete Docter would make a fine successor to Miyazaki…

Kiyoharu :Biohazard Darkside Chronicles

It's been announced that Kiyoharu will be taking part in the Wii game commercial for "Bio Hazard / Darkside Chronicles". The CM will featured the mysterious view on Kiyoharu and [Biohazard], which was a special request from Capcom, which wanted to have Kiyoharu in it. The filming had been done at the beginning of December inside a studio in Chiba prefecture. Within the world of [Biohazard] you can see Kiyoharu fighting his enemies with a Wii remote control as a gun - scenes recorded in a more than 20 hour long video shooting!

Ayabie : irodori / New look!

Visual kei rock band ayabie have set the release of their first major album, called irodori, for January 27th.

The album will feature all of ayabie's previous singles - Aitakute, Natsu monogatari and Sayonara -, as well as the b-side Yubikiri and an album version of the song action, plus more for a total of 10 songs.

irodori will hit the stores in three different versions, two of these limited. The type A will include the bonus track growther and a DVD with approximately 55 minutes of live and backstage footage from the group's concert at SHIBUYA-AX on October 26th. The type B will contain the bonus track Koi wo shiyou yo and a DVD including recording scenes and footage of the rehearsals for the group's first Taiwanese concert, held in October.

The last edition, a regular one, will be a CD-only release and will feature as its bonus tracks Mirai e and an album version of the live-distributed song Canary. The first press of this same version will also come with a luxurious 56-page photo collection.

Fujifabric: R.I.P Masahiko Shimura

It has been announced a few hours ago, the death of Fujifabric's frontman and guitarist, Masahiko Shimura, occured 2009.12.24. Just 29 years old, the cause of death of the singer, the only remaining original member of Fujifabric, has yet to be disclosed.

As a result the band's participation on RADIO CRAZY radio show and the event occuring 2009.12.31, COUNTDOWN JAPAN 09/10, has been cancelled.

Fujifabric ask their fans to give it their full support and declares that the three remaining members, Daisuke Kanazawa, Shinichi Kato and Soichiro Yamauchi , continue their musical careers in the future.

RxC: I'm still in shock. Srsly, I love Fujifabric DD: & to die on Christmas Eve?..I'm lost for words.

HAPPY BELATED CHRISTMAS~

Open this site and you find yourself DISAPPOINTED for the past two days?

As you have noticed, we have not posted much during the Christmas~! [maybe I should have said something earlier so you guys didn't have to click here and get disappointed, but yah, too late now o_o;] This is because we mods, are also humans, and need the energy from the dry...dry...sand dry turkey to power us for the rest of the year.

Texture is pretty similar from the time when I ate sand in kinder garden.

Today is my momma's birthday. So technically its also a national holiday... in my house.

amber gris : Shoujo no Cuore

Recently-formed visual kei band amber gris have announced the release of their second single, called Shoujo no Cuore, for March 24th.

amber gris managed to gasin attention by their line-up, which includes, most notably, ex-Ruvie vocalist Temari, ex-Sugar bassist koto and ex-gossip guitarist kaname. They held their first live on October 17th, where their first single, Joukou 8000ft -shounen wa tengoku e todoku no ka-, was sold.

No other information on Shoujo no Cuore has been released so far. However, the group has planned a series of three events in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya to promote the CD. Fellow visual kei bands Administrator and L'eprica ave already been confirmed as acts for all three days.
