The GazettE: Before I Decay [Review]

I'm sure most of you know i'm a constant GazettE fan and enjoy whatever they release as long as i can hear Ruki's godly voice, however, for probably the first time, if not then one of very few times, i was actually a bit let down with this release.

I am in no way saying this wasn't a good release, not at all, it was amazing and i loved it, but i did for probably the first time have one or two "problems" with it.

My first "problem" would be that Ruki's voice was too violent througout, there was only a small verse near the end in which his voice slows down and isn't scratchy as hell. Of course the chorus wasn't screamo, or even THAT scratchy, i know, but with how heavy and fast everything is, it gives off the same effect as if it were.

[On a side note, i like to sing along to GazettE songs & the verses are SOOOO HARD to sing along to, cant he write the lyrics as he sings them?!?!]

Nevertheless, i still love it as much as any other GazettE song, its just as powerful as id expect of them, a bit heavier than usual but their diversity and ever changing style is what makes me love them so much (+ Ruki's voice).

Mark: 8-9/10

So i was disappointed that the title track didn't show off Ruki's breathtakingly deep and emotional voice. Oh well, always a bside that can showcase some dark strong vocals, hell Kugutsu-e did GREATLY at that.

Oh boy was i let down.

Okay so i had troubles with the first track but still thought it was immense and its one of my favourite songs. This track, Mayakashi, on the other hand, i did not like.

Well no that's not true, i liked it, but really not as much as i normally like a GazE song, its waaayyyy too poppy and light hearted, and the chorus wasn't slow or powerful or anything.

Mark: 6/10

now i have to wait at least FOUR MONTHS before i can MAYBE hear a new song in which Ruki's uses his voice in the way i love so much.

Overall Mark: 7-8/10
