UVERworld : Interesting info on GOLD

Sony Music Entertainment is now riding the 3D boom. The company has started producing Japan's first 3D music video, for a song titled "GOLD" by rock band UVERworld.

"GOLD" is being released as the band's 15th single on March 31. The music video, which mainly depicts the band performing, was shot over a two-day period in late March. Utilizing cutting-edge 3D techniques, "GOLD" is estimated to cost at least 10 million yen more than a typical video.

As a special promotion for UVERworld's upcoming album "LAST" (on sale April 14), Sony plans to hold a screening of the music video on April 17, with about 1,000 tickets expected to be given out by lottery to fans who purchase the album. Sony is also considering having the band's members in attendance at the event.

UVERworld released their first greatest hits album '-Neo SOUND BEST-' on December 9th. They performed the final concert of their 'Autumn TOUR 2009' on December 15th at Omiya Sonic City.

For this tour they held concerts in 15 cities, and for the most part they performed in locations and venues they hadn't been to before. Since they did not stop at any large, major cities the tour staff dubbed the tour 'the suburban tour'. But compared to Shiga Prefecture, where the band members were born, all the cities were more developed. So during the MC at one of the concerts, the drummer Shintaro apologized. "We've been calling this a 'suburban tour', but it turns out that our hometown is less developed. It should have been called a 'tour played by countrymen'. (laugh)" The fans had a good laugh at the joke.

During the final concert, TAKUYA∞ told fans they were making good progress on their 5th album. "We definitely went sky high today. This tour made me recognize once again why we should perform live. We'll go on a different tour in 2010, and by then we'll have a new album ready. It's an album that everyone will find interesting!"

Popular rock band UVERworld announced the release of their 14th single, Kanashimi wa kitto, for October 28th, almost four months after their latest single GO-ON.

Kanashimi wa kitto has been chosen to be used as the theme song for the TBS drama "Shoukoujo Seira", which airs every Saturday at approximately 8pm. The single, besides the title track, will also include Bakiha and a single version of Mikageishi, previously released on their latest album AwakEVE.

The limited edition of the single, as usual, will also feature a DVD including performances of GROOVY GROOVY and D-tecnoLife recorded during their concert at Yoyogi Daiichi Taiikukan on April 5th this year, plus the second edition of UVERworld Classics.

I noticed that recently... I havnt been noticing UVERworld. Where have they disappeared to [in edoh-land]?

Well, they released a new album in Febuary and I did not even notice until now... yeh thats pretty bad of me.
