Porno Gaffitti: New Album Release and Tour!

After celebrating their tenth anniversary last year, Porno Graffitti has now announced the release of new album due this March. To promote this new release, this pop-rock duo will be embarking on a five-month new tour throughout May to October.

Titled ∠ TRIGGER, this is the band's eighth album and also their first full-length release in over two and half years. Their latest original album Porno Graffitti, was released in August 2007.

All the singles released after the group's eponymous album are being included in this new album which include Koyoi, tsuki ga miezu tomo, Kono mune wo, ai wo iyo, Anima Rossa and Hitomi no oku wo nozokasete. Eight other songs have also been picked, making it a 12-track CD.

The limited edition of the album will come with an additional DVD, including music videos and making-ofs of all single tracks from the CD. A live performance of Utakata from their first one-man concert at Tokyo Dome held last year, is also included in the disc.

To celebrate the release of the album, the band is embarking on a long tour, with 56 dates in 44 cities in all Japan. It will kick-off at Misato Bunka Kaikan on May 15th and end with two consecutive concerts at Okinawa Convention Center on the 9th and 10th of October.

PornoGraffitti : theme for Shukumei

The new song from PornoGraffitti called '瞳の奥をのぞかせて / Hitomi no Oku o Nozokasete [lit. 'Let Me Look into Your Eyes']' will become the main theme song for an upcoming drama. It will be the first time in 4 years and 3 months for the band to provide a song for a drama series.

The drama titled '宿命 1969-2010～ワンス・アポン・ア・タイム・イン・東京～ / Shukumei [Destiny] 1969-2010～Once Upon a Time in Tokyo～' will begin broadcasting from January 15th 2010. The weekly series will be aired at 21:00 on Fridays.

The PornoGraffitti song attracted attention when it was first revealed during their Tokyo Dome concert on November 28th. It is set to be released as a single on February 10th 2010.

Band member Okano Akihito commented about the new track. "We gave our utmost effort in writing this song. I hope it adds even more flair to the drama." Shindo Haruichi said "Since the drama's geared toward a mature audience, we made a song that matches the atmosphere. We tried to express the dark and bright sides of human souls."

The drama centers on a man who seeks to gain power, and also depicts the desires harbored by that man and three women close to him. The grim, large-scale drama unflinchingly shows the sins of people with limitless lust for power and fortune. Both the song and drama are well worth checking out.
