Source MusicJapan+In Tokyo the singer Nishikawa Takanori attended the press conference for the musical 'ザ・ミュージックマン / The Music Man' in which he will play the lead role. It is a Japanese adaptation of a musical that has been highly successful in Broadway.
Nishikawa will for the first time act as a con artist. Ironically in April 2003, Nishikawa was actually conned into paying 50 million yen to ex-car dealer Saito Yasuo, who has been charged with fraud. He smiled wryly and joked "I know a thing or two about how it feels to be conned, but I'm not sure about conning other people. My experience will help me develop my role. I hope everyone will come and see for themselves." The musical will be performed from April 23rd to May 5th next year at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space in Nishi-Ikebukuro.
